Let’s get the hardest part of traveling out of the way

Getting ready for a big trip can be scary but why is that? Sometimes it’s finances, maybe time, or even the fear of leaving home to go to a new place. It’s common to think that traveling is impossible because of these fears, so let’s tackle them together.

Start by travelling locally! Maybe there’s a city you haven’t been to that you can take a weekend trip to go visit. For instance, when I used to live in Austin, TX I decided to take a trip to San Antonio to see the riverwalk for a weekend and set a budget of only $250 for the weekend. I ended up spending half of it on gas and learned a valuable lesson in budgeting, but then I got to experience the nightlife on the riverwalk!

When you travel to places nearby it makes for a much less daunting trip, so if you work a 9-5 you can plan to leave Friday after work and make it back on Sunday without the stress of using PTO, Sick time, or UPTO. Getting through your first trip can help you get inspired to plan bigger and brighter horizons to explore and really get past that initial hump!
